Goddess Wisdom for Today’s Woman: A Workshop Series with Dr. Judith Essex
December 2 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm$75
Beginning in the 1970’s, Judith Greer Essex was working with goddess images as a way to help women discover the resources of metaphor, mythology and human history for modern living. For many years, the workshop series has lain dormant, due to other projects. Recent events have been a call to action. Within the current political and social climate, women are once again called to empower themselves, to defend themselves and the world around us from the destructive and oppressive forces. Today’s woman needs images of strength, resilience, power and passion, to carry her forward towards self-advocacy, self-awareness and the continual reinvention that our current times demand.
This Month: Hestia, Goddess of Hearth and Home
This month we will explore Hestia, Goddess of the Hearth. She helps us make the sacred space for home, friends and family, and guides us to quiet and simplicity. Hestia brings us centered calm, security, stability, serenity, welcoming and forgiveness.
Demanding times are not new. Our ancestors had their own images that held comfort and empowerment. These images of the goddess, internalized, can carry the strength and resilience of that history into the modern era through us.
Upcoming in 2018 Goddess Workshops move to a new day and time: Aphrodite: Sunday February 4th 4pm-7pm In February, the month of love, we’ll find our inner Aphrodite. The goddess of love, Aphrodite is in touch with her own erotic power, living creatively, passionately playful and alive to the sensual world.
Persephone Sunday April 1st. 4pm- 7pm
